Minja Mihajlovic is an Energy Solutions Analyst and Project Manager at DMEC (Dutch Marine Energy Centre). As part of DMEC's technical team she works on modelling multi-source offshore renewable energy systems as well as the integration of nature-positive offshore solutions. As a part of her Master thesis, she studied offshore energy storage technologies and their integration in offshore wind farms. Currently, she is managing a research project on the potential reoxygenation of the North Sea, using oxygen that is a byproduct of offshore hydrogen production. With a background in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Minja combines technical expertise with a multidisciplinary approach to drive advancements in offshore renewable energy systems.

Energy storage is usually not an end in itself. The technical and financial benefits are always the main concern. However, it is often difficult to prove the profitability of use cases. Acquisition or operating costs are often still too high in relation to returns. But the market is changing, and new framework conditions and regulations are creating opportunities for new use cases. The most attended session of the ees Europe Conference 2024 already gave attendees an overview. In 2025, we will take this format to the next level.
